It is well known (though perhaps untrue) that English never allows words with triple letters. Here we demonstrate some of the extreme conditions that can temporarily create such atrocities.

Kirk and Spock are here and they have sent a message to The Enterprise, and it is your job to decode it. The message is long, so we've broken it up across multiple tables.
Each table gets a different version of the puzzle (largely but not entirely the same clues and answers). The final answers from the eight table chain together to form a message.
Download the zip file which contains the following:
- "Equinox instructions.pdf" - instructions to be read aloud by the presenter
- "TABLE [number] - Answer Sheet.pdf" - this is the sheet where you write down the answers.
- "TABLE [number] - Clue Sheet.pdf" - this is the sheet that has the clues.
- "TABLE [number] - Letter Sheet.pdf" - this file should be printed on transparency film and then cut out.

Social Security Words
Social Security Words, a paper-pencil puzzle from Equinox 65, by Henri Picciotto (Hot)
If instead of using the digits 0-9 for Social Security Numbers, we used the letters A-Z, it would be extraordinarily lucky to have a Social Security Number that was a word! Even more so if it broke down into three words following the SSN pattern xxx-xx-xxxx. For example: ARC-HE-TYPE.
This is a puzzle based on that idea.

Suppose I were to ask “Where is your American flag?”. You might reply, “Blowin’ in the wind” — which just happens to be the title of a Bob Dylan song.
An open-book quiz:
In this PDF are 61 (natch) questions, the answer to each of which is the title of a song written by Bob Dylan. For those who aren’t familiar with all 518 or so titles in Dylan’s oeuvre, an alphebetized list has been provided. The number in parentheses after the question indicates the column in which the answer can be found.
